Powerful words, and a devastating, horrible reality. Hurricanes don't hit the North Carolina mountains, and they also don't travel east across the Gulf of Mexico as majors in October and smash the west coast of the Florida peninsula...

Beautifully written. I tried to write a love letter to NC & the mountains specifically, but realized I needed more time. Thank you for this. It's a perfect statement of why I love the NC mountains so much. My current novel in progress is set there - with two more waiting in the wings and this is a reminder of why I set them there. Feeling homesick for NC (from VA).

Thank you, excited to read your novel. I have a collection of short fiction due to be printed by the end of the year. Nerves. Left my soft (ample) underbelly open to the gnarly teeth of predators.
