The Jesus Tree

TAXODIUM

As the TAXODIUM project continues to evolve, I search older files for images of the Bald Cypress. I found this project from years ago I had completely forgotten about. It holds a few paintings I made for an exhibition at University of North Florida in 2009 entitled Liquid Peace.

The Jesus tree is a living myth in the backwaters of Durbin Creek. This 2000 year old Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum) is hollow which saved it from the saw.
